Logos Scripture Summer School 2025

Presented by Dominican scripture scholar Fr Terence Crotty O.P., the Logos Scripture Summer School 2025 offers two separate course options this year.

Course 2 - Jesus in the Old Testament

Friday evening 11th July to Tuesday evening 15th July 2025

On Course 2 (Jesus in the Old Testament), we will look at Jesus on the road to Emmaus explaining to the disciples how the Scriptures of the Old Testament spoke of him and we'll ask ourselves "What did he mean?" And so we will look at how Jesus is present in the lives of the Old Testament heroes and the teachings of the prophets, so that the Old Testament need never again seem like a foreign book to a Christian, but we can see how Jesus fills it and fulfils it everywhere.

• The Summer School will be held again at the Cistercian Abbey Guesthouse, Roscrea, Co Tipperary, Ireland:

"The guesthouse is a quiet place, set in the beautiful grounds of the Cistercian monastery at Roscrea. There are fine walks around the grounds, giving the visitor time and space to enjoy the peaceful landscape."

• NOTE: the Summer School lectures, events and meals are held in the Guesthouse itself; bedrooms are split between the Guesthouse, and Clairvaux House, also in the grounds of Mount St Joseph Abbey, near the gate. Rooms are allocated by booking date.

Total Cost:

• • €400 per person sharing (€360 with Early Bird Offer up to Friday 30th May 2025 for Course 2). 
    • €465 single room (or €418 with Early Bird Offer up to Friday 30th May 2025 for Course 2)

• Bank transfer payment details are on the booking form.
• A deposit of €100 is required to confirm your acceptance of the place.
• The balance of the fee is due by Tuesday 1st July 2025 for Course 2.
• Remember to include your name as a reference so we can identify the payment.

Presenter: Fr Terence Crotty O.P.

Fr Terence Crotty (BDS, BA, LSS, STD) is a scripture scholar and a priest of the Dominican Order, based at St Saviour’s Priory, Dublin. A former prior of San Clemente in Rome, he is Regent of Studies for the Irish Dominican Province, and he lectures in Scripture, Latin, and Greek at the Irish Dominican Studium. He studied at the Pontifical Biblical Institute, Rome, and at Blackfriars, Oxford, and he holds a doctorate in Sacred Scripture from the University of Fribourg. His doctoral thesis, “Why is it that you ask my name?”, explores the translation of names in the Septuagint version of the Book of Genesis.
