Presented by Dominican scripture scholar Fr Terence Crotty O.P., the Logos Scripture Summer School 2025 is a wonderful opportunity for busy people to spend four intensive days exploring the stories of genius found in the Bible, to savour the brilliance of both God and the biblical authors, and so to understand and love Sacred Scriptures all the more.

Two separate four-day course options available this year!

Each course includes lectures, personal and group study and time for questions, observations and discussions, as well as daily Mass, prayer and social activities.

Courses begin on Friday evening at 6pm (check-in open from 4pm), and end on Tuesday evening after Tea served at 6pm. No prior learning required.

Course 1 - A Walk Through the Bible (27th June - 1st July): On this course we will go through the entire Bible, hitting its key passages and giving a short overview of each of the major sections: the Old Testament history books, the Prophets, Psalms, the search for Wisdom and then, in the New Testament, the Gospels, the Letters of St. Paul and the other letters, with a brief look at the Book of Revelation.

Course 2 - Jesus in the Old Testament (11th July - 15th July):  On the second four-day course, we will look at Jesus on the road to Emmaus explaining to the disciples how the Scriptures of the Old Testament spoke of him and we'll ask ourselves "What did he mean?" And so we will look at how Jesus is present in the lives of the Old Testament heroes and the teachings of the prophets, so that the Old Testament need never again seem like a foreign book to a Christian, but we can see how Jesus fills it and fulfils it everywhere.

Time for discussion, prayer and social activities are included.

No prior learning needed!

Come and join us from for Course 1 (Friday 27th June to Tuesday 1st July 2025), or Course 2 (Friday 11th July to Tuesday 15th July 2025) - or both! - in the beautiful surroundings of the Cistercian Abbey Roscrea!
